BREAKING NEWS: PM Removes Request for Legal Action Against Seang Chanheng

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has cancelled the order to the Kandal Provincial Administration and provincial commissioner to bring in Seang Chanheng and to wait for the opinion of the Minister of Land Management.

The Prime Minister made a post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, 11 January, stating that the decision to take action against Seang Chanheng was made with DPM Sar Kheng since 29 December 2022. At the request of the person concerned, on Monday, 9 January 2023, the Prime Minister handed over Seang Chanheng's case to the Minister of Land Management, DPM Chea Sophara to continue the work.

“On 9 January 2023, at the request of Seang Chanheng, I submitted to HE.Chea Sophara classified documents for his opinion. In order to end the uncertainty before HE. Chea Sophara gave his opinion, I decided to cancel the announcement made on 5 January 2023 (to bring Seang Chanheng in). The decision will be made after H.E. Chea Sophara reviews and comments," wrote Prime Minister Hun Sen.

It should be noted that on Wednesday morning, 11 January, a letter from the Office of the Council of Ministers, signed by Secretary of State Ken Satha, was distributed on social media to inform the Minister of Interior and the Governor of Kandal Province to take action and bring Seang Chanheng and her accomplices in to the Kandal Provincial Prosecutor's Office, to be charged and prosecuted for forging documents to occupy the real estate owned by Hun Bunthoeun and Hieu Lon in Tuol Sala village, Saang Phnom commune, Saang district, Kandal province.
